Lower School:

The beloved Ted Scheu (“the poetry guy”) will return to the Lower School during the week of January 12 to run workshops in language arts that are tailored to curricular needs in the LS. Examples include “Rhyme and Rhythm: Every good poem has a wonderful rhythm…a music all it’s own”; “Making visual and sensory comparisons: Using visual and sensory tools like image, metaphor and simile to enhance the meaning of poems”; “Writing from the heart: Getting kids to share feelings, beginning to get kids to write individual poems about important memories and events”; and “The writing process and revision: Finding the best words to say exactly what we want to say.”

Upper School:
On February 9, Upper School girls will enjoy a performance by Evidence, a troupe from the Ron Brown dance company. This acclaimed dance troupe from New York draws inspiration from both African and modern dance traditions.

NOTE: Parents are welcome to attend all Assemblies.
