PRIVATE MUSIC LESSON PROGRAM 2006 - 2007

The Music Department offers private lessons in piano and voice, as well as string and woodwind instruments. An enrichment to classroom instruction, this is an excellent opportunity for your child to deepen her appreciation of music and to learn skills that will change her life. She will have the opportunity to participate in recitals and/or group classes in addition to receiving instruction from professional specialists. Our adjunct music faculty is selected from the finest performers and teachers in New York and Connecticut.

Lessons Offered:
PIANO , STRINGS and WOODWINDS - offered to Groups II - XII
VOICE - offered to Groups VII - XII

Scheduling:
Private music lessons are scheduled according to these guidelines: student/family schedule, developmental level and teacher/studio space availability. Lessons are offered in the Wallace Performing Arts Center after school and on Saturdays. Generally, younger students begin with a 30-minute lesson. The average lesson time is 40 or 50 minutes. More advanced students may request a 60-minute lesson.

Fees:
The Business Office will bill you at the beginning of each semester for a full semester of lessons. Your child must make a commitment for an entire semester. There are approximately 15 weeks per semester, depending on lesson day. Costs are as follows, and have remained at this price for the past 5 years::
One 30-minute lesson= $40 x 15= $600 per semester
One 40-minute lesson= $52 x 15= $780 per semester
One 50-minute lesson= $65 x 15- $975 per semester
One 60-minute lesson= $80 x 15= $1,200 per semester.
